Surgery is call "Thoracoscopic Sympathectomy"
This is a summary of what i found from the internet:
***
~ involves disrupting / destroying or cutting the part of the nerves that supply the sweat glands of the hands
~ performed under general anaesthesia.
~ collapse the lung on one of the side and surgeon cuts the nerves
~ a chest tube is inserted through the incision to allow the unwanted air to escape.
~ re-inflates the lung and subsequently collapses the other lung for the surgeon to operate on the opposite side.
~ lungs then are both fully re-inflated with the help of the 2 chest tubes now present.
~ Before waking the patient up, the chest tubes are usually removed.
~ patient is then discharged after 6 - 8 hours or after a period of observation overnight
~ usually a little pain and discomfort on coughing, sneezing or breathing hard. The pain would subside fairly quickly over a few days and the stiches can be removed after 10 to 14 days. The scar or scars are small and hidden under the armpit.
***
***
Risk of surgery (based on what the doctor told me) :
~ 80% Compensatory Sweating (usually back area)
~ <5%>
~ <5%>
~ 2-3% Bleeding from an artery or vein /infection
~ <1%>
~ 5% Pneumothorax (air in chest between lungs)
~ 10-20% numbness over operation side

i realised once i get to know the more details,
The more scared i am,
especially when i studied medical science before.
scared that doctor accidentally cut wrong or injure the nerves,
scared that my lungs got extra air den need to stay in hospital extra days
all these scared thoughts i have what the doctor said.
and the cost of surgery i used my medisave from cpf to pay.
very ex.. almost finish all my medisave $$.
hopefully everything goes well...
